LAPTOP

A laptop or note book computer is a small personal computer used for mobile use.A typical note book is of 20 to 30 types of kinds making it difficult to determine which one is better or fits your needs.
History of laptops
The necessity of notebooks started in early 1970’s. The first comercially portable computers was produced in 1981, named as osborne.from 1983 onwards ther was a drastic devlopment took place and given birth to what we are using called laptops.

LCD

Almost all current notebooks are equipped with wide lcd screens as display device in which the aspect ratio of 4:3.Many recent laptops are coming with LED back lit screens have many advantages over regular LCD Screens that are lit by many flouroscent lamps.LED screens are brighter ,thinner and lighter for this reason LED Screens are expected to replace LCD screens.

KEY BOARD

A keyboard is considered as an input device,which is an integrated one in laptops used for typing data,for giving input commands etc.,if required an external keyboard can be connected through usb or ps/2.Backlit key boards are recently launched the light from lcd screen enhances the keyboard viewable in the night and also enhances the laptop to use in the dark when the other pupil are sleeping.

MOUSE

A standard mouse can be connected to the laptop computer through usb or ps/2 and it fuctions similar to desktop computers.
A mouse in bulit is nothing but a touchpad which is present below the keyboard for all laptops it senses the touch of your finger on the touch pad and cursor moves accordingly There will be two small patches below the pad are considered as left and right clicks.

BIO METRIC FINGER PRINT SCANNER

The finger print reader on the laptop will register the finger prints which will replace the typing of passwords to acess the laptop. This is usually located very adjacent to the key board as seen in the picture. This scanner functionality can be optional and can be set in the software.

MOTHER BOARD

The mother board is the largest printed circuit board in most computers and is held by many screws .The mother board contains various circuit cards performing various functions. Unlike a desktop mother board that usually has sevral slots for expansion cards but in laptop a small highly integrated mother board may have no expansion slots only expansion possible in this case is via
External port such as USB, several other functions like storage controllers,net working,sound card,and external ports are implemented on the mother board itself

HARD DISK

This is another important component in your laptop. The hard drive stores all the data that you create with your apllication software and files inside.In recent laptops hard drives have come with drop protection feature that detects the fall of the hard drive or complete laptop.

RAM

RAM means read acess memory.This is another basic part in your laptop installed in the system on a littile circuit boards called modules that plug into your mother board.this makes very convinent to add more memory by plugging in other module.

USB PORTS

This port or ports are located on the sides near the hinges of laptops.These are used to connect usb media such as a flash drives,usb mouse,digital camera or external keyboards.

AUDIO

All laptops headphone output quality is normally decent.built in speakers in laptops usually does not sound good due to limited space in which they are installed. All the laptops are equipped with built in mic and some have mic input jacks.

GRAPHIC CARDS

Video card is also known as graphic accerlator card.All video cards are pretty reliable with their inbuilt processors and ram memory which helps for better output of graphics,even they have their own cooling systems.Video cards are also now being placed on to the mother board to help in bringing down the cost of the laptops.

BATTERY

Before purchasing the laptops check the laptop’s stated battery life,some laptops are equipped with cheaper,and shorter life batteries,and also check the battery capacity in (mAh),additional batteries are available but they add both extra cost as well as weight.





AC INPUT ADAPTER

This is ac power supply input ,which is usually located at the backside of the laptop and it allows to use AC power Instead of battery power and also it allows to charge battery.The adapter unit which
is usually a plastic casing equipped with 3 pin male plug at one end to be connected to 230v AC power supply and other end with female plug to be connected to laptop.
